Even though Virginia Tech is the only program to offer at this point, Class of 2019 tight end Cormontae Hamilton is still drawing interest from other schools.
Hamilton, Rivals’ No. 9 tight end and No. 16 player in Tennessee in the 2019 class, made a few visits to prospective schools this summer, including camps to boost his recruitment. More visits are coming, as Hamilton gets a better feel for his options and what schools think of him.
The Hokies offered Hamilton for offense, but he’s also gotten a few looks on defense. Hamilton said he’d be open to play variations of tight end, including the Flex and H-back positions.
“I think Virginia Tech offered me at tight end,” he said. “The coach at Memphis wants me to play D-end, though. He said I’ve got good moves. I don’t really care. I’m good at catching, making moves and just blocking. But I’m aggressive on defense. I just like scoring, getting pancakes and crack-backs.”
