Cormontae Hamilton Hoping to Boost Recruitment in Junior Season

Even though Virginia Tech is the only program to offer at this point, Class of 2019 tight end Cormontae Hamilton is still drawing interest from other schools.

Hamilton, Rivals’ No. 9 tight end and No. 16 player in Tennessee in the 2019 class, made a few visits to prospective schools this summer, including camps to boost his recruitment. More visits are coming, as Hamilton gets a better feel for his options and what schools think of him.

The Hokies offered Hamilton for offense, but he’s also gotten a few looks on defense. Hamilton said he’d be open to play variations of tight end, including the Flex and H-back positions.

“I think Virginia Tech offered me at tight end,” he said. “The coach at Memphis wants me to play D-end, though. He said I’ve got good moves. I don’t really care. I’m good at catching, making moves and just blocking. But I’m aggressive on defense. I just like scoring, getting pancakes and crack-backs.”
