Goode Talks Virginia Tech Stop, Recruitment

Goode took a visit to Virginia Tech over the weekend with his mother.

Of his 17 offers, St John’s College Prep (DC) three-star defensive tackle Cam Goode has no favorites. But Goode has taken a series of recent visits that have helped him inch closer to that point.

This spring, Goode has taken in junior days and visits to Virginia Tech, Penn State, Rutgers, Wake Forest and Duke. More visits are coming, but Goode isn’t rushing anything. Still, he does have a loose timeline in mind.

“Every school has a lot, but what stood out was the variety that Virginia Tech has,” Goode said. “That was different from any other school. Duke, it was just, not the vibe, but it was just history and prestige and excellence behind it. The area and the campus is beautiful. Wake Forest is small, but it’s a top school with education and academics. I mean, ACC stands for academic coastal conference. Rutgers stood out by the location, coaches and major for students.”

Goode, the No. 8 player in the District of Columbia according to Rivals.com, made his first trip to Blacksburg this past weekend. The visit gave him a chance to see both the academic and football side of Virginia Tech.
