Virginia Tech is in much better shape at the linebacker positions than they were a year ago at this time. Not only do the Hokies currently have two healthy starters, but they finally appear to have the potential for some decent depth at those positions, too.
You can’t argue with the statistical production the Hokies got from their two starting linebacker spots last season.
Andrew Motuapuaka: 114 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble
Tremaine Edmunds: 106 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble
Any defensive coordinator would take those numbers all day long.
