Capehart stands at 5-foot-10, 178-pounds and is a pretty big get for the Hokies. Capehart had 21 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Miami, NC State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Capehart is the only 4-star recruit in the Class of 2017 so far.

Capehart joins a large group of pass catchers for Virginia Tech in the Class of 2017. Sean Savoy, Kalil Pimpleton, Hezekiah Grimsley and Capehart are all slated to play wide receiver at Virginia Tech, with athlete Caleb Farley possibly joining the mix. Lecitus Smith plays tight end and athlete Dalton Keene could possibly contribute there as well.

  1. Thank you, Tahj, for staying in Virginia. We need more (all) of our outstanding student athletes to stay in state, and there is really only one quality team in the Commonwealth. Go Hokies!

  2. Welcome and super awesome announcement picture. Looking forward to you leading the Hokies to a bunch of victories!

      1. Are you serious! The art, the marketing concept behind the photo is finally progressive! It speaks volumes to the war Coach Fuente and Virginia Tech is waging on in state recruits: “Come be the next Bruce Wayne- Business Professional during the day and Super Hokie at night”.

Bigtime SEC schools like University of Georgia are so far ahead of us. Last year i was chuckling at how they are using digital Billboards now to recruit recruits. Imaging seeing yourself or a message meant for you on a digital billboard as you come out of the RaceTrack or Sheetz with a Slushy and Slim Jim. It’s crazy the ingenuity they use down here.

Finally we are publicly addressing the real PR issue affecting Tech and we are outing it publicly at our in state recruit’s that we are committed to changing it if you are. They have taken a cross sport page from Lebron, D-Wade, Dwight Howard: That their is Honor and Integrity in staying in state or coming home. VT might finally be getting the right idea now. This photo art and photo messaging is absolutely PHENOMENAL!

        GO HOKIES
