Countdown To Signing Day: One Week Away

Will Virginia Tech boom, bust, or end up somewhere in the middle with its top remaining targets? This question will be answered one week from today on February 3, which is National Signing Day for the class of 2016.

Eight prospects enrolled at Virginia Tech this month. Ten other recruits — including new commitment Silas Dzansi — are expected to sign letters of intent with the Hokies next Wednesday. The number was 11 before this afternoon, when punter Marshall Long announced he had de-committed from the Hokies.

Between now and then the Hokies will host numerous official visitors. Certainly, the potential to finish with a flourish exists.

One recruit Virginia Tech appears to be in good shape with is Raines (Jacksonville, FL) defensive end JaQuan Bailey, who tweeted the following after his in-home with Justin Fuente, Charley Wiles, Galen Scott and Holman Wiggins. Bailey, who is scheduled to visit Blacksburg this weekend, committed to Florida earlier in the process but has since de-committed and is now down to Tech, Tennessee and Iowa State.
