It was evident early on during Sunday’s one-day camp that Marcus Minor had the attention of the Virginia Tech coaches. The 6’4”, 285-pound offensive line prospect, a rising junior out of Maryland power DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville), played well throughout the day and ended up earning a scholarship offer from the Hokies.

“The coaches challenged me to show my effort and hard work throughout the [one-on-ones] which made me stand out because I did well,” Minor said of his performance at Virginia Tech last Sunday.

East Carolina and Temple had offered Minor prior to the Tech camp. He’ll look to continue to impress on the camp circuit this summer, as he plans to go to Penn State, Tennessee and West Virginia. If he plays the way he did at Tech, this could be the start of many more offers for the Stags rising junior, who says he has no early favorites.

“I just want to go through the process and be able to make the best decision for myself for the four years for my education and football,” Minor said, discussing where he is in his recruitment.
