The coaching staff is hard at work on the recruiting trail right now. Probably nobody is working harder than offensive line coach Stacy Searels, who is still trying to rebuild depth up front.
Since the 2014 class, Virginia Tech has put an emphasis on numbers for the offensive line, and they’ve also gone out-of-state for the majority of their OL recruits.
In 2014, the Hokies signed four offensive linemen:
Colt Pettit: Ohio
Eric Gallo: Pennsylvania
Billy Ray Mitchell: New Jersey
Tyrell Smith: New Jersey
