JJ Givens’ first major FBS scholarship offer came last summer, when Virginia Tech extended an offer following the Atlee (Mechanicsville, VA) defensive back’s impressive performance at the Hokies’ July one-day camp. Fast forward eight months, and the 6’2”, 175-pound prospect now boasts 11 scholarship offers in total.

In addition to Virginia Tech, “I have offers from Arizona State, West Virginia, Michigan State, Michigan, Wake Forest, Indiana, and Maryland just offered. Louisville, JMU and Liberty have offered, too,” Givens said.

Virginia Tech is recruiting Givens as a cornerback; however, the versatile defensive back says some schools like him as a safety.

“I legitimately feel like I can play either one,” Givens said when asked if he felt more comfortable at corner or safety.
