Last Saturday evening at the University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium, the final Virginia High School League game of the day was over and the scoreboard read:
Ocean Lakes 30, Centreville 24
Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) had just captured the VHSL 6A state championship, but 6’1”, 175-pound senior free safety/wide receiver Jahque Alleyne had a surreal feeling when asked how it felt to be a state champion.
“It feels like a dream honestly,” Alleyne said.
