North Carolina and Virginia Tech are the top schools for West Forsyth (N.C.) defensive end Jalen Dalton, but whether the 6’6”, 240-pound senior’s choice will be the Tar Heels or Hokies (or possibly another school) will not be known for a little while longer.

“He wants to take official visits and then see where he’s at,” West Forsyth head coach Adrian Snow said of Dalton, who was thought to be closing in on a late September or early October decision between the two ACC rivals. “At the moment he plans to visit only those two, but that’s not to say that it couldn’t change and another school could be added.”

Of UNC and Virginia Tech, Snow said: “He likes the people at both schools. The fact that they are both fairly close to home is important as well.”

Dalton will take an official visit to North Carolina on the weekend of October 3-5. On October 4, the Tar Heels host Virginia Tech. The date for the official visit to Blacksburg has yet to be worked out, but the West Forsyth star was in Blacksburg this past weekend for Tech’s home contest versus Georgia Tech.
