1) When will Marshawn Williams be cleared for full contact, and does his injury mean that he’ll redshirt?

Chris Coleman: Let’s do the math. He underwent surgery for his hernia on Friday, July 25. Mike Goforth reiterated on BeamerBall.com today that they will not clear Williams to practice until at least three weeks from the date of his surgery.

That means the earliest Williams will be cleared to practice will be next Friday, August 15. However, like every other NCAA football player, he won’t be allowed to practice in full pads right away. He’ll have to practice two days in just a helmet, jersey and shorts. After that, he’ll get two days in shells (helmet, shoulder pads and shorts). Only after those four days can he return to full contact.
