Darrell Taylor saw his recruitment pick up some serious steam last week, when Florida, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame and Tennessee extended scholarship offers. What does the 6’4”, 220-pound Hopewell (VA) rising senior think about these recent developments on the recruiting front?

“It made me feel good, but it was kind of overwhelming because they all came at one time,” said Taylor, who is being recruited by most schools (including Virginia Tech) as a defensive end or outside linebacker. “First was Tennessee. Then Florida, and then Michigan and Miami came the same day. It made me feel special, though.”

Taylor grew up a Florida Gator fan. No question, that scholarship offer means a lot.

“[Florida is] pretty high on my list because it was my favorite school growing up,” Taylor said. “I was liking them when I was little when they had Tim Tebow. They are really high on my list. I look forward to going to UF to meet the head coach. I’m going to go sometime in the summer.”
