By the end of this week, Hokie fans should know if James Johnson is going to be Tech’s coach next year.

In just two days, the Hokies, who finished last (or tied for last) in the ACC for the third consecutive season, will play against Miami in a game pitting 15th-seeded Tech against the #10-seeded Hurricanes.

The Hokies are unlikely to make much of a run in the ACC Tournament, and really, even if they do, it shouldn’t change the conversation. Tech has lost 16 out of 17 games in the 2014 calendar year. If you want to go back to when they were 7-3 after defeating Miami on December 8th, the Hokies have gone 2-18 in the three months since then.

2 and 18. The two wins were victories over 6-23 Maryland Eastern Shore and a Miami Hurricanes team that didn’t show up, making just 6 of their first 41 shots on their way to a 25.9% shooting day.
