Minor Biding His Time

Some major college coaches are recruiting 6’3″, 225-pound senior Raymon Minor as a linebacker, while others see him as an H-Back/wide receiver-type. The Benedictine (Richmond, VA) star showcased his skills on both sides of the ball in last Saturday’s 14-10 win over St. Christopher’s, turning in a solid game on defense while coming down with four catches for 84 yards that included a key reception on the Cadets’ game-winning drive.

Down 10-7 with 2:03 left in the fourth quarter, the Benedictine offense took the field on its own 35. Minor hauled in about a 15-to-20-yard reception on the first play, providing the spark the Cadets needed.  Just a few plays later, thanks to some quality running from freshman Alex Williams, Benedictine found itself with a 4-point lead.

“It feels good. We fought strong. We didn’t give up on our team,” said Minor, whose team has won two consecutive games after starting 0-3.

Of his important catch, Minor said: “Coach was like, ‘Are you ready?’ I said yeah. Bryce just threw it up. I went to get it. I knew I had to catch it for us to come down and score, so I just tried my best.”
