Fisher & Reid Set For FUMA

Virginia Tech class of 2013 signees Holland Fisher and DJ Reid are expected to arrive at Fork Union Military Academy (VA) today, FUMA postgraduate head football coach John Shuman said.  A third Tech class of 2013 recruit, Cequan Jefferson , hopes to enroll at the prep school later this month, but his situation is not yet resolved.

“We’re in the process of gathering his paperwork,” Shuman said of Jefferson, a cornerback prospect out of Henrico High School (VA).  “He has to clear admissions.  There is a lot of stuff we have to get done there.”

Shuman is optimistic that Fisher, a touted safety prospect out of Manchester High School (Midlothian, VA), can make it to Blacksburg in January of 2014.  Reid, a 6’0″, 215-pound running back out of Thomas Dale (Chester, VA), is aiming for midyear enrollment as well.

“Fisher, I feel pretty good about him,” Shuman said.  “I met with him and I feel like we have a good academic plan set up.  He has to get a couple of great grades, but if he does I think he can match the SAT.  The plan is pretty easy.  Reid is more of a high-GPA kid.  We need to work on a plan to get his test up. We need to work on getting him over the hump on those tests.”
