5-Star Brown Talks Recent ACC Visit

The coming months will be important for consensus 5-star defensive lineman Andrew Brown .  He does not plan to commit by the end of summer, but he does hope to determine which five schools he will take official visits to this fall.  Therefore, the 6’4″, 290-pound rising senior will use the rest of the spring and the summer to further explore his options.

Virginia Tech is the most recent school the Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA) product has traveled to.  He was in Blacksburg this past Sunday, and the visit coincided with Virginia Tech’s first one-day camp of 2013.  Brown did not participate in the camp, but he did take a closer look at the football facilities, the academics, and he interacted with coaches and players as well.

“It was fun being my second time there,” said Brown, who was greeted by Tech rising sophomore running back J.C. Coleman, a former Oscar Smith star, and Tech primary recruiter Bryan Stinespring when he arrived around 11 o’clock last Sunday morning.  “I got to see more of the campus.  I got to see what I want to do there, the classroom music studio and everything.  After that I saw the player lounge and locker room and got refreshed on those things.”

In the months leading up to this visit, Virginia Tech was not considered one of the favorites in this race despite having made Brown’s initial top eight.  After last Sunday, Tech is now firmly entrenched as one of the Tidewater star’s five official visit locations.
