Raymon Minor Talks Recruiting

Alabama, Michigan, Oregon and Virginia Tech are among the many schools that have been represented at Benedictine (Richmond, VA) so far in this Spring Evaluation Period.  The Cadets boast a talented rising senior class, but in terms of major FBS prospects Raymon Minor is the one getting the most attention.  Minor, a 6’3″, 220-pound linebacker/H-back prospect, claims close to 20 college scholarship offers including one from Virginia Tech, which was represented by Shane Beamer and Bud Foster at Benedictine on Tuesday of this week.

The presence of Coach Beamer and Coach Foster is the latest indicator of Virginia Tech’s interest level in the central Virginia standout.  Minor also felt wanted when he traveled to Blacksburg for the Spring Game.

“It was good.  It was really good,” Minor said of his experience at Tech on April 20.  “When I was at [Patrick Henry High School] I went to a game against Boston College (in October of 2011).  The atmosphere was cool and stuff like that, but when I went to the Spring Game I felt like everybody knew me.  The fans were showing me love.  The team showed me love.  The coaches were great.  They treated me like family.”

When he arrived at Tech that day, Minor was greeted immediately by primary recruiter Shane Beamer.  From there, he spoke with Coach Foster, who “was just telling me he really wanted me there,” said Minor, who is being recruited by Tech to play outside backer.
