Dan River (Ringgold, VA) rising senior Terrell Edmunds has verbally committed to Virginia Tech, his father, Ferrell Edmunds, confirmed to TSL Wednesday morning.  If the name sounds familiar, it should.  Terrell’s older brother, Trey, is a promising rising red-shirt freshman running back for the Hokies.

“It’s something he has been contemplating for a while,” Ferrell said of Terrell’s decision.  “He went to the Spring Game on Saturday.  Afterward, he just liked the situation there.”

The 6’1″, 175-pound athlete called primary recruiter Bryan Stinespring and committed on Monday night.  According to Ferrell, who is Dan River’s head coach, Tech is recruiting his son to play cornerback.  The younger Edmunds earned second-team all-state honors for his play at defensive back as a junior.  He also saw action at quarterback and wide receiver.

Virginia Tech now has seven class of 2014 commitments, including four defensive backs – Edmunds, cornerback Jovan Harrison, cornerback/safety  Kalen McCain , and safety CJ Reavis .  And Virginia Tech is likely to keep the recruiting success going on Thursday, when Hylton (Woodbridge, VA) rising senior QB/ATH Travon McMillian will announce his college choice at a 2:30 p.m. press conference.
