Reavis Impressed With Latest Visit To VT

Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) rising seniorĀ  CJ Reavis traveled to Blacksburg on Saturday, taking in the first of two recruiting events the Virginia Tech football program is hosting in a 2-week span.Ā Ā The 6’2″, 200-pound safety prospectĀ says the visit “helped [the Hokies] because I haven’t talked to them in a little while.Ā  It feels like home when I go down there.Ā  I get along with the coaches, and I know most of the players.”

Reavis estimates he was one of about 10 players at Tech on Saturday.Ā  The agenda included a tour of the facilities, learning more about academics, meeting with position coaches and current players, and lunch.Ā  What stood out most to Reavis, though,Ā was a meetingĀ that included four Tech coaches –Ā head coach Frank Beamer, assistant coach Shane Beamer, defensive coordinator Bud Foster, and defensive backs coach Torrian Gray.

“Me and the coaches, we all sat down and they talked about how I can come in and help,” said Reavis, who is being recruited by Tech as a safety.Ā  The staff feels he could play either rover or free safety.Ā  “They were saying how I fit the defense perfectly because I can come up and make hits.Ā  Their safeties come up to the ball.Ā  If I do well, there is a chance I could come in and make an impact early.”

Shane Beamer, Tech’s lead recruiter at Thomas Dale High School, continues to be a positive for the Hokies here.
