Player Breakdown: Class of 2013

Virginia Tech signed 18 players on National Signing Day, and today we’ll take a closer look at each signee. There is no exact science to recruiting, and generally scouts, analysts and coaches are wrong as often as they are right.

Here are my thoughts on Tech’s 2013 signees based on watching their highlight film, and how I see them fitting into the program. It will be interesting to look back four years from now and see how accurate this turns out to be.

Kyle Chung , 6-4, 280, OG

Chung has the potential to be a good interior lineman in college. I saw him in the summer of 2011 at the Tech camp, and it was clear that he had the potential to fill out. By the summer of 2012, he had indeed filled out, and since then he’s gotten even bigger. He was around 260 last summer, and now Virginia Tech lists him at 280.
