Fork Union Recruiting Notes

Drew Harris was one of Virginia Tech’s most highly rated recruits in the class of 2012.  The 6’1″, 210-pound running back, a product of Downingtown East High School (Exton, PA), failed to qualify out of high school and therefore had to attend prep school.   He decided on Fork Union Military Academy (VA), and right now the hope is to enroll at Tech in January 2013.

FUMA postgraduate head coach John Shuman provided the latest on Harris’ admission status with Virginia Tech, saying:  “We have compliance working on it.  We have Virginia Tech compliance working on it.  We have final exams [today], and next week we should have all the information in.”

If he gains admission, Harris will enroll at Tech next month and be eligible to participate in spring practice.  If he does not gain admission, the situation becomes much less clear, as the former Downingtown East star does not plan on returning to FUMA for a second semester.

“He leaves this week and that’s it,” said Shuman, who added that they have some “alternate plans” available for Harris should he not make it to Tech next month.
