Spring Game Will Show the Difference Between Tech and UVA

As we know, the Hokies have a huge recruiting weekend coming up in Blacksburg.  Even if it does rain, there is going to be a lot of impressive things happening that these 2013 (and even some 2014) recruits will get to see.

Besides the actual game, they’ll get to see 40,000 Tech fans in the stands (and compare that to the number of fans they saw in Charlottesville last weekend), numerous NFL players who attended Virginia Tech, and upwards of 300 former VT lettermen who are getting together for a reunion thanks to the networking skills of Billy Hite.

Every year it seems like this weekend gets bigger and bigger.  Last year in an article following the Spring Game, Will and I said that our goal should be 50,000 fans for the Spring Game.  It’s an achievable goal, considering that it wasn’t too long ago that the Spring Game was an afterthought for most fans.  Because of the threat of rain, that’s not going to happen this year.  That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen in the future.

Besides the tailgating and the opportunity to watch football, it’s also your chance to make a difference for the program.  The more fans that are in the stands, the more impressed recruits will be.  As usual there is an impressive list of prospects making the trek this weekend.
