Hodges, Bowens With Multiple Offers

Salem (Virginia Beach, VA) finished the 2011 season with an 11-2 overall record and an appearance in the Eastern Region Division 6 final. With quarterback Bucky Hodges and wide receiver Kwamane Bowens returning next season, Sun Devils head coach Robert Jackson has reason to be optimistic for next season’s prospects.

“We’re excited about what we have coming back,” said Jackson, who’ll return five offensive starters and five defensive starters in 2012. “Our quarterback will be back, which is big for us. We have some good skill guys returning. We’re rebuilding on the offensive and defensive lines.”

The 2013 in-state quarterback class is an impressive one, and Hodges is in that group. The 6’6″, 215-pound junior was recently named the 2011 Beach District Offensive Player of the Year, finishing the year 126 completions in 203 attempts for 2,142 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Hodges makes plays with his legs, but this season he has developed further in the passing game.
