Dan River (Ringgold, VA) linebacker/running back Trey Edmunds is one of the top remaining uncommitted rising senior prospects in the state of Virginia. If all goes according to plan, though, he’ll move into the “committed” category by the time high school starts back up in September. The 6’2″, 200-pound prospect stopped by the University of Virginia for a closer look yesterday, another step in working towards a decision.

“It was a great visit,” Edmunds said of yesterday’s trip to Charlottesville. It wasn’t his first trip to UVa, but it might well be the last before a commitment comes. “I sat down with some of the players…some of the ones coming in and some that have already been there. It was a good visit.”

Virginia is one of six schools that have offered Edmunds, who also boasts offers from Maryland, North Carolina, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech. He has visited Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech, but says he has not eliminated any of the six.

“I’m still just weighing my options between all of the schools,” said Edmunds.
