Glenvar (Salem, VA) rising senior Seth Dooley felt good about his performance at Virginia Tech’s one-day camp, but he wasn’t necessarily expecting a scholarship offer. And then Bryan Stinespring approached the 6’5″, 225-pound defensive end/tight end prospect following the event.

“He asked me if I’d consider going there,” Dooley said, recalling his conversation with Stinespring. “I said yes. He then said he wanted me to talk to Coach Beamer. I met with Coach Beamer and that’s when he offered. It was pretty cool.”

Dooley wanted to commit on the spot, but at the urging of Coach Beamer he decided to go home and discuss the decision with his mother.

“My dad was with me at camp, but my mom was at home, so I went home and talked to her about it,” Dooley said. “When I went home and told her, she was happy about it. I called Coach Stinespring and told him I wanted to commit.”
