Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) safety/wide receiver Desmond Frye received an offer from Virginia Tech in late February, and the University of Virginia followed suit last week. The 6-3, 190-pound junior took a closer look at both programs this past weekend, taking a trip to Blacksburg on Saturday and Charlottesville on Sunday.

“Both were good,” Frye said.

Frye has now visited Virginia Tech twice within a one month span. He had been to Virginia before as well, though he was just a freshman the last time he was in Charlottesville. It was certainly a good day, though, as it was the Knights’ Group AAA, Division 6 state championship win over Lake Braddock.

“I attended Virginia Tech’s junior day [on February 26], but we didn’t go through the whole campus,” Frye said. “The second visit, I got to do that and I got more one-on-one time with [primary recruiter] Shane Beamer and the other coaches.”
