Hall Commits To VT; Marshall Set To Announce

One Dinwiddie (VA) star rising senior has committed to Virginia Tech and another could follow suit tomorrow. This morning, 6-4, 225-pound Chris Hall accepted an offer from the Hokies. Hall, who starts at quarterback for the Generals, is being pursued by Tech as a tight end.

“He committed to Virginia Tech. He called Coach Cavanaugh [this morning],” Dinwiddie head coach Billy Mills said. “He told me on Saturday on the way to UVa (for a 7-on-7 tournament) that he was ready to go. Then he got the offer from UVa, so he sat on that a little bit. Today he was ready to commit.”

Hall chose Virginia Tech over offers from Marshall and Virginia. The latter school offered this past Saturday, but the chance to play for the childhood favorite Hokies was too good an opportunity to pass up.

“That’s all the kid has ever talked about since I’ve known him,” Mills said, referring to Hall’s desire to go to Virginia Tech. “He has known every player and every stat. He is a big fan. This has been a dream of his to do that. He really likes the coaching staff and feels like he is a good fit there.”
