Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer is expected to visit Bishop Kearney (Rochester, NY) senior Jerome Lewis next week, either at school or at Lewis’ home. The 6-4, 230-pound tight end prospect is solid in his decision, so coach Beamer and coach Wiles will be visiting for a different reason.

“He is coming for my mom,” Lewis said. “Coach Beamer has never met her. This will be the first time they get to meet each other. Coach Wiles has been up here a few times before, but coach Beamer has never been up here.”

Coach Beamer’s visit only makes a solid commitment stronger.

“Virginia Tech’s coaches have always wanted to take the extra step,” Lewis said. “Tech wanted to take the extra step for my mom.
