Two-guard Jarell Eddie , Virginia Tech’s lone commit in the 2010 class, enjoyed a successful junior season, leading the Cannon School (Concord, N.C.) to a conference co-championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the state playoffs. The 6-7 rising senior enjoyed taking a leadership role on what was a senior-laden Cannon squad in 2008/2009.

“I took more of a role as more of a prominent scorer,” Eddie said. “I felt like I was more vocal. I tried to help my teammates get better. I was always the guy at practice pushing them, making sure they went hard in drills.”

Eddie, who is participating in this week’s NBAPA Top 100 Camp, has not wavered on the commitment he gave Virginia Tech almost one year ago (he committed last July). Sporting a Virginia Tech t-shirt at the camp, he said he plans to sign with the Hokies in November.
