Virginia Tech scored a surprise commitment from cornerback Jayron Hosley in the 2009 class, and the Hokies are looking for more success out of Atlantic Community (Delray Beach, FL) in the 2010 class. Tech offered wide receiver James Louis earlier in the process and, just last Wednesday, extended an offer to a second Atlantic recruit in quarterback Mark Leal . The 6-1, 180-pound signal caller is certainly pleased with the offer.

“Right now, Virginia Tech is my number one,” said Leal, who has yet to visit Tech but plans to do so this summer. “I have good relationships with past [Atlantic and Virginia Tech] players like David Clowney and Brandon Flowers and Jayron Hosley, who just signed there. I’ve been talking to the coaches some. We’ve built a good relationship so far. I’m just getting comfortable with them.”

Florida International, Minnesota, Oregon, Pitt, Rutgers and Vanderbilt have also officially offered, with Wake Forest currently showing heavy interest as well. Leal has experienced a recent flurry of recruiting activity and is in no hurry to make a commitment.
