Laiti on the Recruiting Trail

Robinson (Fairfax, VA) linebacker Brian Laiti , one of the most productive defensive players in the state last season, is busy making recruiting visits this winter and plans to make more this spring. Whether or not he’ll make a commitment prior to his senior season is unclear, though, as his main focus is helping the Rams to a big year in 2009.

“I’m really excited about next season,” said the 6-3 1/2, 205-pound Laiti, who earned AP second-team all-state honors last season as a junior. He tallied 147 tackles including five sacks on the year. “I just wanted to help bring the tradition back. We’ve been working together as a team and I think good things are going to happen.”

The fourth Laiti brother to play under Robinson head coach Mark Bendorf, Brian has benefited from his brothers experiences.

“I’ve been watching my brothers since I was young, so when I started I was just following in their footsteps,” Laiti said. “They have been giving me good advice on reading plays. They told me to play hard every time and to study the defense and blitz packages. They told me to work hard at it. Working hard and studying playbooks is something I got from them. I try to get a game plan together before each game.”
