Farris Awaits First Offer

Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA) junior offensive lineman Caleb Farris attended Virginia Tech’s prospect day last Saturday and he had an opportunity to speak with head coach Frank Beamer. The 6-4 1/2, 300-pound junior, who graded out at 92-percent as an offensive tackle last season as a junior, has yet to pick up a Division 1A offer but continues to draw interest from a number of Division 1A programs, including Virginia Tech.

“We sat down for lunch and it was just me, my mom and my girlfriend,” Farris recalled from last Saturday. “Then Coach Beamer stopped by and asked if he could sit down. We talked for a while. That was exciting. Coach Hite was there and we talked to him for a while.”

This was not the first time the Rockbridge County junior has spoken with Virginia Tech’s head coach. Asked if there was any indication on whether or not the Hokies would offer, Farris answered, “I’ve talked to him a couple of times. He has never said they are going to offer, but he has said some stuff that gave me a good feeling. I’m keeping my options open, but I would definitely appreciate an offer.”

Farris enjoyed his most recent Blacksburg experience.
