For First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA) safety/wide receiver prospect Nick Dew , the recruiting process has been an “exhilarating” experience. For quite some time, the junior’s dream has been to earn a scholarship to play football on the Division 1A level and that dream was realized earlier this month.

“Two or three weeks ago, I received a full ride from the University of Kentucky,” said Dew, a 6-2, 195-pound prospect with excellent speed. “Virginia Tech made an offer to me about a week ago. A lot of schools say they would like to offer but they want me to get my first ACT score. Michigan State, UVa, Minnesota and Duke are interested. I just got a letter from UCLA. UNC is interested. There is a lot of ACC interest.”

Dew has had one specific school in mind for quite some time, but at this point he plans on going through the process and evaluating any options that may arise.

“My goal ever since the sixth grade was to attend Virginia Tech,” said Dew, who has visited Blacksburg on one previous occasion.
