Telvion Clark didn’t need to wait any longer before making his college decision. Just hours after indicating that he would announce his college decision tomorrow, the Granby (Norfolk, VA) 6-1, 205-pound standout linebacker called primary recruiter Curt Newsome and pledged his commitment to sign with the Virginia Tech Hokies next February.

“I was thinking to myself that today or tomorrow would make no difference,” Clark said. “Nothing was going to change my decision. Everybody’s excited about it. I gave Coach Newsome a call and he was excited. He said he wanted to shout it from the rooftops.”

Clark attended three camps – Virginia Tech, Penn State and North Carolina – this month, and as it turns out those were his three finalists. In the end the decision came down to the Hokies and the Nittany Lions, but it was Tech’s camp that turned out to be the difference.

“Virginia Tech was fairly high on my list before the camp, but the camp really did it for me,” said Clark, who earned a scholarship offer from the Hokies as a result of his camp performance. “Basically the whole day was great, but I really liked when I got the chance to work with Coach Foster before the one-on-one drills. He was on me before those one-on-one drills and that played a big part in my decision.”
