As expected, Hermitage (Richmond, VA) quarterback Joseph “Ju-Ju” Clayton made his college choice today. In fact, the 6-2, 210-pound signal caller just informed coaches of the program of choice of his decision this afternoon. Where is the Panthers star quarterback headed?

“I just met with Coach Cav and Coach Beamer,” Clayton said. “I committed to Virginia Tech. I had actually pretty much made my decision before I went up [to Virginia Tech for an official visit] this past weekend, but I told them today. They were excited. They said they can’t wait to get me down there. They were glad to hear that I had made up my mind.”

Clayton will be the latest Hermitage Panther to sign with Virginia Tech. In recent years, the Hokies have also landed offensive tackle Duane Brown, linebacker Andrew Bowman and linebacker/safety Alonzo Tweedy. Like Tweedy was last year, Clayton is being recruited as a grey-shirt.

“Virginia Tech is still recruiting me as a grey-shirt, but they did say something about maybe moving Cory Holt to wide receiver. As of now, I am a grey-shirt,” said Clayton, who plans to enroll in January of 2009.
