Hylton (Woodbridge, VA) didn’t have its typical successful varsity football season, finishing with a 3-7 overall record in 2007. Virginia Tech commitment Eric Martin , a 6-3, 230-pound tight end senior, helped to lead the Bulldogs through a tough season and ended up turning in a solid individual season.

“I started off slow the first part of the season, but I finished the season with 22 catches for 405 yards and five touchdowns,” Martin said. “Later in the season, the coaches actually moved me out to wide receiver for a few games. I usually just lined up there to be a decoy, but not this year.”

Could wide receiver be in Martin’s future?

“I just talked to Coach Foster this week. He said I’m definitely going to play tight end (laughs),” Martin said.
