New Hanover (Wilmington, N.C.) offensive tackle/defensive tackle Nick Becton remains quiet in terms of naming any favorite schools, but he has been on a few unofficial visits this month. The 6-6, 290-pound prospect remains a hot commodity for Division 1A programs including Alabama, Clemson, Maryland, N.C. State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech, among others.

East Carolina and N.C. State are the two programs Becton has visited unofficially this month. N.C. State has been in the mix for quite some time and the talented senior has a good feel for the program at this point.

“I’ve talked to the coaches. I really like the coaching staff and they need offensive linemen,” Becton said.

Virginia Tech, led by primary recruiter Charley Wiles, has been in consistent contact this month. Becton, who was offered by the Tech coaches at the July 14th camp, is being recruited by the Hokies as an offensive tackle or defensive tackle.
