Evans Reflects on All-American Game Experience

Virginia Tech commit Darren Evans , who was named Mr. Football in the state of Indiana for his senior season performance, was selected to and played in last week’s East Meets West All-American game in Orlando, Florida. TechSideline.com caught up with the talented 6-1, 212-pound running back for his reflections on last week.

First of all, Evans was just excited to be making an all expenses paid trip to Florida.

“Just the fact that I was down there and everything was paid for was a lot of fun,” Evans said with a laugh. “It was the first time I had been in something like this. Playing for [East squad Head] Coach [Don] Soldinger, who was the former running backs coach at Miami, was a big honor. I started in the game. The whole thing was real big for me.”

In the game, Evans rushed nine times for 35 yards as the East fell to the West 35-25.
