Alvarez Progressing in Senior Season

If there was one knock against 6-5, 310-pound offensive lineman Will Alvarez heading into his senior season, it was consistency. But, this season, the touted prospect turning in better performances according to Hylton Head Coach Lou Sorrentino.

Hylton is off to a 4-0 start to the season.

“He’s definitely progressing,” Sorrentino said of Alvarez, who is his left tackle. “We have run the ball extremely well this year. Our top rusher, Omoniyi Bakare, has four straight 100-yard games. Will, Leo [Grassilli] and Brandon [Westbrooks] have all been playing really well. We’ve been fairly dominant running the ball.”

Alvarez certainly turned in some impressive plays last season as a junior, but often wasn’t able to be as impressive as the game went on. This is another thing he has improved on this year.
