Star LB Makes “Confident” Decision

In a press conference in front of family and friends, Myrtle Beach (S.C.) junior linebacker Bruce Taylor did something he has been leaning towards doing for quite some time – make a commitment to Virginia Tech. Now that he has his recruitment out of the way, the 6-3, 230-pound star is eager to focus on the remainder of his high school career.

“I had been to a lot of other schools, but I just felt comfortable with Virginia Tech,” Taylor said. “I went there for the spring game. It was real nice. I loved the atmosphere. People I didn’t even know were coming up to me and saying hi and ‘we want you to come to Virginia Tech.’ Blacksburg is a little town. I liked that because I won’t have to deal with a lot of distractions. I really like the school. Also, they run the same defense as us and I like what Coach Foster teaches.

“I’m just real confident in my decision.”

According to Myrtle Beach Head Coach Scott Earley, his star player felt comfortable with the coaches and players as well. One player in particular had an impact on Taylor.
