At a 5:00 p.m. press conference at Myrtle Beach High School stadium, Myrtle Beach (S.C.) star junior linebacker Bruce Taylor announced his verbal commitment to Virginia Tech. He chose the Hokies over Florida State and North Carolina, which were the recently named finalists.
At 6-3, 230 pounds, Taylor is considered one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2008 recruiting class. He racked up 205 total tackles including 42 tackles-for-loss as a sophomore last season.
Taylor joins Patrick Henry (Ashland, VA) star ATH D.J. Thomas in Tech’s 2008 recruiting class.
