2008 Target: RB Williams Lands First Two Offers

September 1st was not only the date college coaches could begin calling 2007 class recruits on a weekly basis, but it was also the date that juniors could start receiving scholarship offers. In what is no surprise, Stonewall Jackson (Manassas, VA) running back Ryan Williams – considered to be one of the top in-state recruits in the 2008 class – picked up his first two offers yesterday.

“[Yesterday] I received my first two offers – from Maryland and UVa,” Williams said.

“I wasn’t expecting it this early. I was expecting them to come after my season.”

Of receiving his first offers, Williams said “It felt great. I can’t explain it other than to say I was happy. I kind of felt like I wanted to cry (laughs), but I was at school when I received my first offer. I was in weightlifting with [Head] Coach [Loren] Johnson. Words can’t describe how I feel because this is something I love dearly. It’s a real good feeling.”
