Less than a week after landing an offer from Virginia Tech, Episcopal (VA) wide receiver Danny Coale verbally committed to the Hokies. Coale becomes the fifth player to commit from last weekend’s camp and is the eighth overall commitment for Virginia Tech’s 2007 recruiting class.

“From the start, they were the team that was most up front and honest with me,” Coale said of Virginia Tech. “Early on, when I wasn’t getting much publicity or whatever, they weren’t concerned with that or with which schools had offered. They felt I was a football player who could play for their team. It just felt right to commit. The coaching staff is great and I like the way they play.”

Coale committed to Tech earlier today while on an unofficial visit there with his mother.

“They were pretty excited,” Coale said. “I was talking to coach Beamer and coach Foster and then I told them I was coming. They were pretty happy.”
