Football Runs in the Brown Family

Nekos Brown paid a visit to Blacksburg on Saturday for Tech’s spring game, an experience that was no doubt exciting for the Thomas Stone (Waldorf, Maryland) standout who signed with the Hokies in February.

“I can’t wait to get out there on the field,” Brown said of getting to Virginia Tech. “I’m just ready to try and seize the opportunity. I know there’s a lot of competition there, but I’m going to just do my best to try and get some playing time.”

This off-season has been a busy one for Brown, who has worked hard on his athleticism as well as his academics. Physically, he’s been trying to improve his speed and strength. His current size – 6-3, 238 pounds – is certainly very solid.

“I run track and I’ve just been working out,” Brown said. “I’ve been working on getting more reps on the bench. I know my max will be all right, so I’ve just been working on the bench. I bench 225 pounds about 20 times right now. In track I run the 100 meters and me and brother run the 4X100. I also do the high jump and the discus.”
