2005 Update: Floyd Kellam

Without question, one of the true leaders, on and off the field, of Floyd Kellam High School’s varsity football team is Demetrius Taylor . Taylor is not only the team’s best player, but he is an excellent student off the field.

According to Floyd Kellam’s Head Football Coach Chris DeWitt, Taylor’s family support is what makes him such an excellent student athlete.

“His discipline comes from a real good upbringing,” DeWitt said. “He’s got a great support system with his family. He not only shows his character on the field, but in the classroom. He’s always received A’s and B’s. He’ll take AP courses next year.”

On the field, Taylor is a 6-1 (though he’s close to 6-2), 220 pound middle linebacker/fullback with excellent speed and smarts. As a junior, he led the team in rushing touchdowns. He averaged 10 tackles-per-game on defense.
