Hermitage (Richmond, VA) linebacker Andrew Bowman announced his long-awaited college decision yesterday, choosing Virginia Tech over Tennessee and Virginia. He had also made an official visit to Purdue, who was still being considered as well.

In the end, Bowman made what was a tough decision, and went with where he felt the most comfortable with the defensive scheme.

“Yeah it was pretty tough,” Bowman said of his choice. “I kind of went back and forth with it a couple of times. I just felt that, defensively, Virginia Tech was the best spot for me. That’s why I chose them. They want me to play outside linebacker. It’s a similar spot to the position I played my junior year, when I was creating havoc all over the place.

“And I did like the atmosphere at Virginia Tech when I went there on every occasion. It’s a nice place.”
